Iranian Rituals

Iranian culture is full of ceremonies and rituals. Holidays like Nowruz, Chaharshanbe Suri, and Yalda, along with countless local rites, are all embedded with traditions.

The Iranian Rituals team is working to document, catalog, and illustrate these ceremonies that have been passed down for thousands of years.

Iranian Mythical Creatures

For several years now, our team has collected stories of Iranian mythical creatures from folktales, epic poems, religious lore, and stories submitted by Iranians through social media.

Each creature is catalogued with its geography, story, and visual identity, forming a living archive for present and future generations.

Noble Houses of Iran

Drawn from royal inscriptions and ancient epics, our team has meticulously reconstructed the Great Houses of Iranian lore.

From the legendary descendants of Jamshid to the powerful satraps of the Achaemenid court, each lineage is catalogued with its founders, regional seats, and historical narratives, forming a living archive of the realm's most influential families.

1001 Shahs (Kings and Queens) of Iran

The 1001 Shahs Project brings Iran’s ancient rulers to life through faithful, research-based illustration.

Each ruler is reconstructed from material evidence: coins, seals, dishes, and rock reliefs. Together the collection traces the evolution of Iranian power, style, and identity across millennia.

This is the first-ever effort to depict every monarch of Iran’s legendary and historical past with scholarly precision and artistic reverence.

The Book of Kings

An illustrated collection of all the major characters in the Shahnameh, the Persian Book of Kings

The Game of Thrones of Ancient Persia, the Shahnameh is often credited with saving the Persian language from disappearance. This epic poem by Ferdowsi, commissioned by kings and completed over the course of Ferdowsi’s life, preserves the myths, heroes, and history of Iran.

In this project, we have undertaken the effort to introduce every single character in the epic.
