Hadhayush

«هدیوش» که در کتاب بُندَهِشن از او با نام «سریسوگ» نیز یاد شده است، از گاوهای اساطیری ایران است. در متون قدیمی میخوانیم که در ابتدای آفرینش برای حرکتکردن میان بخشهای مختلف زمین از این گاو استفاده شده. همچنین در نبرد پایانی بین اهورامزدا و اهریمن «هدیوش» توسط سوشیانس کشته میشود تا از عصارهی او مادهی حیات و جاودانگی ساخته شود. بدین صورت که چربی «هدیوش» را با هوم سفید مخلوط میکنند و «انوش» را از آن میگیرند که باعث جاودانگی مردمان میشود. «گوبد شاه» (که خود نیمیانسان و نیمیگاو است) از این گاو تا نبرد پایانی بین خیر و شر محافظت میکند.
Also known as “Sarsaok”, the giant primordial cow is one of the mythical bovines from the medieval creation text, the Bundaheshn. Soon after the advent of humanity, the first people mounted Hadhayosh to access the three “eternal fires” on its back. They traversed the earth astride the being as if it were a giant ship able to transport large populations.
It is believed that this cow still lives, and in the final battle between Ahura Mazda (the supreme creator god) and Ahriman (chief of all evil), Hadhayosh will be slain by Soshiant (the final Saviour). From Hadhayosh’s essence, a substance for eternal life and immortality will arise containing the cow’s fat mixed with the white Haoma (a sacred mythical plant). "Gubad Shah," who is half-human and half-ox, protects this cow until the final battle between good and evil.
