در گیلان آیینی نمایشی به نام «عروس گوله» برگزار می‌شود. شخصیت‌های این نمایش:۱. عروس (مرد)۲. پیربابو۳. غول۴. دیاره‌زن (دایره‌زنگی‌نواز)۵. کولبارچی (کسی که برنج و سایر هدایای مردم را نگه می‌دارد)۶. تکل (همراه: سیاهی‌لشکر) (سه نفر)غول و پیربابو هر دو عاشق عروس هستند و با چوب می‌رقصند. غول، رقص‌کنان به‌طرف عروس می‌رود و پیربابو راه او را می‌بُرد و مانع رسیدن او به عروس می‌شود. غول برمی‌گردد و به پیربابو حمله می‌کند و پیربابو نیز، ناچار می‌شود که به تماشاگران حمله کند و در این حمله و گیرودار، حرکات غیرعادی و خنده‌آور می‌کند تا مردم شادی کنند. عروس گوله، به همه‌ی خانه‌ها سر می‌زند و بیشتر مردم به «پیشواز» می‌روند و از آن‌ها دعوت می‌کنند که به خانه‌شان بیایند و این برنامه را اجرا کنند. هرکس به اندازه‌ی دسترس خود، برنج، پول، تخم‌مرغ و... به آنان می‌دهد.دایره‌زن به آهنگ مخصوص، دایره می‌زند و ضرب می‌گیرد و می‌خواند:عروس گوله بیاردیم (عروس گل آوردیم)جای و دیلی بیاردیم (جان‌ودل آوردیم)

In Gilan (northern Iran), a ritual performance called “Aroos Gouleh” is held. The characters in this performance include:The Bride (played by a man)Pir Baboo (an old man)GhoulDayareh-Zan (tambourine player)Koolbarchi (the one who carries rice and other gifts from people)Takal (companions or background performers – three people)Both the Ghoul and Pir Baboo are in love with the Bride and dance with sticks. The Ghoul, dancing, moves toward the Bride, but Pir Baboo blocks his way, preventing him from reaching her. The Ghoul turns back and attacks Pir Baboo. In response, Pir Baboo is forced to lash out at the spectators, making strange and funny movements to entertain the crowd.Aroos Gouleh visits every house in the village. Most people come out to welcome them and invite them in to perform the show. Each household offers what they can—rice, money, eggs, etc.The tambourine player plays a special rhythm and sings:Aroos Gouleh biyaardim (We brought the flower bride)Jaan-o del-i biyaardim (We brought heart and soul)
