گفته می‌شود که کرمانج‌های خراسان روغن (کره‌ی) شیر را می‌گیرند و قبل از مصرف یک فیتله را به آن آغشته کرده و می‌سوزانند. سوزاندن روغنِ شیر مراسمی آیینی و با هدف تقدیم به الهه‌ی نور انجام می‌شود. نکته‌ی جالب این است که تا قبل از اجرای این آیین هیچ کسی حق خوردن روغن (کره‌ی) شیر را ندارد.

It is said that the Kormanj people of Khorasan (North Eastern Iran) extract butter (clarified milk fat) and, before consuming it, dip a wick into it and burn it. Burning the butter is a ritual act performed as an offering to the goddess of light. Interestingly, no one is allowed to eat the butter until this ceremonial act has been carried out.
