کاموس کشانی جنگجویی از ماوراءالنهر بود که در جنگ هماون بههمراه خاقان چین به کمک لشکر توران آمد.
در میانه داستان کاموس کشانی، وقتی در کار لشکر ایران شکست افتاد، ایرانیان به کوه هماون پناه بردند و تورانیان آن کوه را محاصره کردند. سپس افراسیاب خاقان و کاموس را برای پشتیبانی از لشکر توران راهی هماون کرد. در ایران نیز کیخسرو رستم و فریبرز را برای کمک به ایرانیان فرستاد.
سپاه خاقان و کاموس به اردوگاه توران رسیدند. فریبرز نیز که پیشتر از رستم حرکت کردهبود به لشکر ایران رسید اما هنوز خبری از رستم نبود.
لشکر خاقان، بر خلاف نظر پیران، به پیشنهاد کاموس صفآرایی کرد و در شیپور جنگ دمیدهشد. کاموس به میدان آمد و حریف طلبید. گیو به سمت او شتافت و جنگی تنبهتن آغاز شد. گیو توان مقابله با کاموس را نداشت پس طوس به کمک او شتافت و این مبارزه تا شب ادامه یافت ولی نتیجهای نداشت.
فردای آن روز رستم رسید و دو لشکر ایران و توران دوباره به جنگ پرداختند. در سپاه توران جنگجویی بود به نام اشکبوس. او پیش آمد و هماورد خواست. رهام پیش رفت و جنگید و چون در کارش شکست افتاد عقب نشست. سپس رستم به رزم اشکبوس رفت و با پای پیاده او را کشت.
روز بعد دوباره جنگ آغاز شد و اینبار دوباره کاموس پیش آمد و حریف خواست. الوای که مردی زابلی بود و دستپرورده رستم، به جنگ او شتافت و به دست کاموس کشته شد.
رستم که کشتهشدن الوای را دید به جنگ کاموس آمد و او را در میدان به بند کشید و لشکر ایران آورد. در آخر کاموس به دست ایرانیان کشتهشد.

Camous Kashani was a warrior from the Transoxiana who accompanied Chinese khagan's in the Hamavan battle, and came to Turanian army's aid.
During his story, once the Iranian army were losing the battle, they took refuge to Hamavan mountain, but the Turanian army surrounded the mountain. Then Afrasiab sent the khagans and Camous to assist the Turanian army. During this time, Kaykhosrow sent Rostam and Fariborz to assist the Iranian army. The army of khagans and Camous arrived at the Turanian camp. Fariborz had also arrived at the Iranian army, but Rostam had yet to arrive. Although Piran didn't agree, but the army of the khagans prepay for battle, by the order of Camous. Camous left for the battlefield and asked for an opponent, for a one on one combat. Giv charged at him, and their one on one combat began. Giv couldn't defeat him single-handedly, hence Tus joined him. Their battle lasted till night, but it had no result.
The next day, Rostam arrived, and the two armies engaged in yet another battle. Within the Turanian army, there was a man called Ashkbous. He came forward and asked for an opponent. Roham fought him, but retreated once he realized that he couldn't defeat him. Then Rostam charged at Ashkbous and managed to kill him while still on foot.
The next day, their battle continued. Camous came forward and asked for an opponent once again. Alvay, who was a man from Zabol, and mentored by Rostam, answered his call. But he got killed by Camous's hand. Once Rostam saw Alvay's death, he himself charged at Camous, held him captive, and took him to the Iranian camp. Camous got killed later, in the Iranian army.
