پرمایه، برادر بزرگ‌تر فریدون، همراه با برادر دیگرش، کیانوش، در سفر سرنوشت‌ساز فریدون به سوی کاخ ضحاک حضور داشت.
پس از آنکه کاوه به فریدون ملحق شد، فریدون در کار ستارگان نگریست و طالع را موافق یافت؛ سپس این خبر را به دو برادرش داد و آنان را مأمور ساختن گرزی گاوسر نزد آهنگران کرد.
پس از ساختن گرز، فریدون به همراه برادرانش راهی شد. آنان در نوند اطراق کردند و آن شب، پیری نزد فریدون آمد و او را به رموز جادوی سپید آگاه ساخت. از سوی دیگر، کیانوش و پرمایه که به جا و مقامی که برادر کوچک‌ترشان کسب کرده بود حسادت می‌ورزیدند، تصمیم گرفتند که هنگامی که ففریدون به خواب رفت سنگی عظیم بر او فرو اندازند و از شرش خلاص شوند. اما در واپسین لحظه، فریدون از خواب برخاست و با نیروی جادو سنگ را در میان هوا نگاه داشت.
با این حال، روز بعد، فریدون بدون آنکه سخنی درباره خیانت برادرانش به زبان آورد، به مسیرش به سوی کاخ ضحاک ادامه داد.
Parmaaye, the elder brother of Fereydoun, accompanied his younger sibling and their other brother, Kianoush, on the fateful journey to Zah’haak’s palace.
After Kaave joined Fereydoun’s cause, Fereydoun observed the stars and found his fortune favorable. He then informed his brothers and tasked them with commissioning a bull-headed mace from the blacksmiths.
Once the mace was forged, Fereydoun set out with his brothers. They camped in Nond for the night, where an elderly sage visited Fereydoun and imparted the secrets of white magic to him. Meanwhile, Kianoush and Parmaaye, envious of their younger brother’s rising status, conspired against him. They decided that when Fereydoun fell asleep, they would drop a massive stone upon him and rid themselves of his presence. However, at the last moment, Fereydoun awoke and, wielding his magical power, suspended the stone in midair.
Despite their betrayal, Fereydoun said nothing about their treachery and continued his journey toward Zah’haak’s palace.
