توس پسر نوذر و برادر گستهم است که با آنکه پسر پادشاه ایران بود بزرگان پس از کشته شدن نوذر او را پادشاه ایران نکردند و زو را بر تخت نشاندند. توس را شاید بتوان شاهزادهای سرکش نامید. در جریان خشم رستم در داستان سهراب توس کسیست که کیکاووس به او دستور میدهد تا گیو و رستم را دار بزند که رستم توس را کنار میزند و از کاخ خارج میشود. توس در جریان جنگ رستم و سهراب یکی از هفت سراپردهی ایران را در اختیار داشت و در بسیاری از جنگها از زمان نوذر تا کیخسرو حضور دارد. در جریان جنگهای ایران و توران بعد از کشته شدن سیاوش به دست تورانیان توس با بیتدبیری خود و گوش ندادن به حرف کیخسرو لشکر ایران را از مسیری برد که کیخسرو از او خواسته بود که به آن سمت نرود و همین باعث رویارویی سپاه ایران با فرود پسر سیاوش شد و در نتیجهی آن فرود کشته شد. توس در آخر در زمانی که کیخسرو عزلت گزید و تخت پادشاهی را رها کرد با چند تن دیگر چون گیو و فریبرز و بیژن به همراه کیخسرو رفت و در برف گم شد.
Tus was Nowzar's son, and Gostahm's brother. Although he was the king's son, after Nowzar's death, he wasn't crowned; Zaw became the king instead. You could say that Tus was a rebellious prince. During the story of Rostam's Rage, Tus was the one who got the order from KayKāvus to hang Rostam and Giv, but Rostam pushed his hand away and left. During the story of Rostam and Sohrab's combat, he had one of the pavilions in Iran's army. He participated in many wars since Nowzar's reign up until KayKhosro's. During the war between Iran and Turan, after Siyâvash got killed by Turanians, Tus didn't listen to KayKhosro; he made a thoughtless decision and took Iran's troops through a path that KayKhosro had told him to avoid. Therefore Iran's troops encountered Forud son of Siyâvash, and Forud got killed as a result of this encounter. Ultimately when KayKhosro decided to leave the throne, so that he could live isolated from everyone and in solitude, Tus left with him amongst Giv, Fariborz, and Bizhan. They got lost in the snow. Rostam pushed Tus' hand away On his feet, Tus couldn't stay
