اخواشت یا اخواست یکی از سرداران توران در دوران پادشاهی کیکاووس و کیخسرو بود که در رخ هشتم یازده رخ پس از نبردی طاقتفرسا به دست زنگهی شاوران کشته شد.
نخستین بار نام اخواشت در پادشاهی نوذر در کنار سرداران پشنگ پادشاه توران به میان میآید. آنجا که پس از مرگ منوچهر پشنگ کسانی همچون کرسیوز و بارمان و افراسیاب را به گرد خود جمع میکند تا ترتیب جنگی علیه ایران را بدهد.
پس از آن نام اخواشت در ماجرای چوگان زدن سیاوش و افراسیاب به میان میآید. در داستان چوگان افراسیاب کسانی همچون رویین و شیده و اندریمان و اخواشت را به عنوان یار به سیاوش پیشنهاد میدهد اما سیاوش ترجیح میدهد که یارانش را از میان ایرانیان همراهش برگزیند.
اخواشت در رزم یازده رخ یکی از سرداران ارشد سپاه توران است و در رخ هشتم به نبرد رخ به رخ با زنگهی شاوران میپردازد و در آخر کشته میشود.

Akhvasht, or Akhvast, was one of the commanders of Turan during the reigns of Kay Kavus and Kay Khosrow, who was killed by Zangeh of Shavaran in the eighth battle of the eleven Rokhs after a grueling fight.
For the first time, Akhvasht's name appears during the reign of Nouzar alongside the commanders of Pashang, the king of Turan, where, after the death of Manuchehr, Pashang gathers figures such as Karsivaz, Barman, and Afrasiab to prepare for a war against Iran.
Later, Akhvasht's name comes up in the story of the polo match between Siavash and Afrasiab. In the tale, Afrasiab suggests companions such as Ruin, Shide, Andariman, and Akhvasht to Siavash, but Siavash prefers to select his companions from among the Iranians.
Akhvasht is a senior commander in the army of Turan during the battle of eleven Rokhs, engaging in a face-to-face fight with Zangeh of Shavaran in the eighth battle, and is ultimately killed.
