اشکش یکی از پهلوانان ایرانی در زمان پادشاهی کیخسرو بود.
اشکش از نژاد همای است و در داستان عرض کردن کیخسرو با درفشی پلنگپیکر سالار لشکر کوج (قومی در کرمان) و بلوج (بلوچ) بود.
او در جنگ پشن در داستان فرود سیاوخش سمت چپ لشکر ایران را رهبری میکند.
اشکش در داستان بیژن و منیژه یکی از گُردانی است که همراه رستم برای نژاد بیژن به توران میروند. اشکش در شبیخون رستم و بیژن به افراسیاب در نبرد شرکت نمیکند و به دستور رستم از بُنهی لشکر نگهداری میکند ولی فردای همان روز در رزم رستم با افراسیاب سمت راست لشکر ایران را رهبری میکند.
اشکش در داستان رزم یازده رخ به دستور کیخسرو با سی هزار نیزهگزار به خوارزم لشکر میکشد که در نتیجهی آن شیده پسر افراسیاب را مجبور به عقبنشینی به سوی گرگانج میکند.
اشکش در داستان جنگ بزرگ کیخسرو، زمانی که افراسیاب به ایران دستدرازی میکند و از رودخانهی جیحون گذر میکند، به دستور کیخسرو با لشکرش به زَم لشکر میکشد تا جلوی پیشروی افراسیاب را بگیرد.
در همین داستان پس از آنکه کیخسرو شاه مُکران را شکست میدهد، شهر مُکران را به اشکش میسپارد.

In the legendary saga of Bijan and Manizheh, Ashkash stands among the valiant companions who accompany Rustam on a quest to rescue Bijan from Turan. During the nighttime raid led by Rustam and Bijan against Afrasiab, he refrains from joining the fray on Rustam’s command and instead safeguards the rear of the army. Yet, upon the morrow, he becomes the leader of Iran's right flank in Rustam's fierce battle against Afrasiab.
In the tale of the Battle of Eleven Rokhs, Ashkash, directed by Kaykhosrow himself, leads thirty thousand spear-wielders into Kharazm, forcing Shide, the son of Afrasiab, to retreat towards Gorgan.
During the grand war of Kaykhosrow, when Afrasiab dares to invade Iran and crosses the Jihun River, Ashkash, under the king’s command, rallies his forces to ZAM, determined to halt Afrasiab’s advance. In this very epic, after defeating the king of Mokran, Kaykhosrow entrusts the city of Makran to Ashkash, honoring his valor and loyalty.
