سرخه پسر افراسیاب بود.
پس از آنکه رستم پسرش فرامرز را برای کینخواهی به توران فرستاد، فرامرز ابتدا به شهر سپیجاب (سپنجاب) رسید و شاه آن شهر، ورازاد، را کشت. سپس خبر به افراسیاب رسید و او پسرش سرخه را با ده هزار سوار به مقابله با لشکر فرامرز فرستاد. لشکر پسر افراسیاب و سپاه پسر رستم رودرروی هم قرار گرفتند و جنگ آغاز شد. از یک سو سرخه و از سوی دیگر فرامرز به سوی هم تاختند و فرامرز، سرخه را به زمین زد و اسیر کرد. در همین هنگام بود که درفش رستم از دور نمایان شد.
رستم دستور داد با تشت و خنجر سرخه را به دشت ببرند و سرنوشتی مانند سرنوشت سیاوش برای او رغم بزنند. طوس این کار را بر عهده گرفت و خود را آماده کرد. سرخه زنهار خواست و گفت که سیاوش همسال و دوست او بوده و دلش از مرگ سیاوش پر از اندوه شده. طوس از شنیدن اینها دلش به رحم آمد و سخنان سرخه را پیش رستم گفت. رستم نپذیرفت و زواره، برادر رستم، تشت و خنجر را گرفت و سر از تن سرخه جدا کرد.

After Rostam sent his son Faramarz to Turan to avenge Siavash's death, Faramarz first went to Sepijāb and killed Varāzād the king.
Then the news of this defeat was taken to Afrasiab, and hence, he sent Sorkhe along with ten thousand horsemen. The armies of the sons of Rostam and Afrasiab formed lines against one another and thus began the battle. Sorkhe and Faramarz charged at one another, and Faramarz defeated Sorkhe and held him captive. During this time, Rostam's flag began to fly in the sky.
Rostam ordered to have Sorkhe taken to another place, and give him the ending that Siavash had already met. Tus accepted to do so, and was preparing himself for the task. Sorkhe asked for forgiveness, and also said that Siavash was about the same age as him, and that his unjust death had also touched his heart. Tus was touched by Sorkhe's words, and shared his words with Rostam too. Rostam didn't accept to let go of him. Therefore Zavare took a dagger, and cut Sorkhe's head off.
