منیژه دختر افراسیاب است.
در زمان پادشاهی کیخسرو پس از آنکه بیژن و گرگین برای مبارزه با گرازها به ارمان میآیند، گرگین از کمک به بیژن سر باز میزند و بیژن به تنهایی مجبور به مقابله با گرازها میشود.
پس از آنکه گرازها از بین میروند، گرگین از ترس آنکه همراهی نکردن اش با بیژن پیش کیخسرو فاش شود، بیژن را میفریبد و به نزدیکی پردهسرای منیژه، دختر افراسیاب، میبرد.
بیژن با تاج و طوق و گوشوار به زیر درختی در نزدیکی اردوگاه منیژه میآید و محو زیبایی منیژه میشود. منیژه نیز بیژن را میبیند و یکی از ندیمان خود را به سوی او میفرستد و به نزد خود دعوت میکند.
پس از سه روز و سه شب همنشینی منیژه با ریختن دارویی هوشبر در جام بیژن او را بیهوش میکند و در چادری پیچیده به کاخ افراسیاب میبرد.
افراسیاب پس از چندی از حضور بیژن آگاه میشود و او را به چاهی میافکند و سنگ اکوان را بر آن مینهد.
پس از آن، منیژه هر روز به چاه میآید و برای بیژن خوراک میآورد تا اینکه یک روز در جستوجوی خوراک به کاروان رستم برمیخورد که با لباس مبدل به توران آمدهبودند تا اثری از بیژن بیابند. رستم به منیژه اعتماد نکرد اما مرغی به او داد و در آن انگشترش را گذاشت. وقتی بیژن آن خوراک را خورد انگشتر رستم را دید و شناخت. پس، منیژه به نزد رستم بازگشت. رستم به منیژه گفت که شب در کنار چاه آتشی روشن کند تا آنها خودشان را به آنجا برسانند. شبانه رستم و یاران اش به چاه آمدند و بیژن را نجات دادند.
در آخر رستم به همراه بیژن و دیگر ایرانیان با افراسیاب جنگیدند و افراسیاب که سپاه خود را شکستخورده دید عقب نشست و رستم و بیژن به ایرانزمین بازگشتند.

Manijeh is the daughter of Afrasiab.
During the reign of King Kay Khosrow, Bizhan and Gorgin are sent to Armenia to hunt wild boars. However, Gorgin refuses to assist Bizhan, leaving him to face the boars alone. After defeating the boars, Gorgin, fearing that his betrayal might be revealed to Kay Khosrow, deceives Bizhan and leads him to the vicinity of Manijeh's pavilion.
Bizhan, adorned with a crown, necklace, and earrings, approaches a tree near Manijeh's encampment and becomes captivated by her beauty. Manijeh notices Bizhan as well, sends a maidservant to him, and invites him to meet her.
After spending three days and nights together, Manijeh, using a potion, renders Bizhan unconscious. She wraps him in a tent and secretly takes him to Afrasiab's palace. Upon discovering Bizhan's presence, Afrasiab imprisons him in a deep well, sealing it with the mighty stone of Akvan.
Despite this, Manijeh visits the well daily to bring food to Bizhan. One day, while searching for food, she encounters Rostam's caravan, disguised as travelers in Turan, who are searching for any sign of Bizhan. Rostam is initially suspicious of Manijeh but gives her a bird with his ring attached. When Bizhan eats the food Manijeh provides, he discovers Rostam's ring and recognizes it. Manijeh returns to Rostam, who instructs her to light a fire by the well at night to guide them.
That night, Rostam and his companions reach the well and rescue Bizhan. In the end, Rostam, along with Bizhan and other Iranians, confronts Afrasiab in battle. Defeated, Afrasiab retreats, and Rostam and Bizhan return triumphantly to Iran.
